(Taylor Swift) Miss Americana - review

Miss Americana tells us the story of Taylor Swift in HER own words. It is her version of her life, where we find a vulnerable, craving for normality girl. She shares her past struggle with eating disorders and her loneliness.  Pleasing Others Taylor Swift confesses that she always lived to please others. Her goal was for people to like her. Considering her age at the time she is talking about, there isn't that surprising. She was a teenager. Isn't what they all want? What is more revealing is how hard she can be on herself. It is challenging to picture a beautiful girl, that can not even stand looking at her pictures. She kept scrutinizing everything, looking for flaws. Studio moments A significant part of the documentary is in the recording studio. We watch Taylor Swift creating her music, and we get a good idea of her creative process. It is beautiful to see the birth of some of her songs. These moments are when we feel that she is really be

Review - Locke and Key: Horror Fantasy in Safe Mode

Locke and Key is a story about a murder. A grieving family, running away from memories, goes to live in a small town in an old family house. In this house, they find a group of magic keys with all sorts of powers. I had a good time watching Locke and Key . It is interesting, full of mystery, and entertaining. Yet, there isn’t much more to take from the show. In many points, it is shallow. Checking some reviews, I realized that there isn’t a consensus about this one at all. There are the ones who loved it, and the ones who hated it. Some people think the actors were amazing; others believe they were terrible. Well, the show is fun, and the actors have an average quality. I can’t see the reason for such a fuss.  Horror(ish) It is a horror story, but it lacks something to be considered that way. They were very safe in their choices and decisions, and it isn’t as creepy as it should. Entering someone’s mind? Flying around dead in the garden? They manage to make it

Review: La Casa de Papel Season4 (Money Heist) - Hold your Breath

Lisbon was arrested, Nairobi was shot , and the team must perform a surgery in the worst conditions possible. This is the beginning of the new season of La Casa de Papel . I was a bit suspicious about this season, didn’t have many expectations. Most shows, especially with such a specific story like Money Heist , usually start to feel boring after a couple of seasons. Well, I was surprised! Same formula The show remains faithful to the formula that got us all glued to the screens since the first episode. We follow the thieves inside the Bank, and we know how the plan development through flashbacks. When things start to be very hard, nerves raise, as well as the arguments inside the group—plausible, realistic, nerve breaking.  The quality of the show remains untouchable.  Sociopathy If we pay attention, there are a few characters with some traits of sociopathy, but none goes as far as Alicia or Gandia. Alicia is a sociopath. Yet, if you ignore som

Elite Season 3 - review

(Spoilers ahead.) Elite is one of the best teen drama shows I’ve watched, and season 3 brings us a new death and a new mystery. After Marina’s killer returns freely to Las Encinas , the rage, revolt, and depression seem to spread amongst the students. They know that nothing will be like before. The feelings are complex, confused, and the kids don’t know what to do with them. Social and economic status seems to be above the judicial system. Yet, the transformation suffered by all the students is the protagonist of the season. Many teenage shows tend to picture the characters as if they are merely underage adults. Here is where Elite went further and better. Yes, they do things that usually only adults do. Yet, the way they deal with them shows the truth: they are little more than children. Lu’s Fall Lu was the villain from the previous seasons. She acts with extreme arrogance since the beginning, pretending she was untouchable. Yet, with her father discove

To All The Boys: P.S. I still love you - Review

I wasn't sure if I should write a review about something I didn't fully watch. Perhaps I shouldn't, but I'll risk it anyway. While the first movie was beautiful and romantic, this one was… boring. So boring, I stopped watching it after the first half of the film.  I'm sorry for the fans. I'm disappointing you, or you'll like it anyway. I don't know. As I said, I loved the first one, but in this one… nothing interesting happens! I went halfway into the movie and nothing! I usually don't say this without much more explanations, but it is boring! Teenage Insecurities and Doubts Lara Jean continues insecure. Yes, she is a teenager, and all of us can relate to it. Yet, this is a piece of entertainment. I would rather see more development in the character.  Now, she has a boyfriend, and she finds out that there is no such thing as a perfect relationship. It is a disappointment to Lara Jean since her goal in the first movie was to f
