Frankenstein is a classic story about a scientist who brings a creature to life and must then confront the consequences of his experiment.  It is a tale about human responsibility, ambition, and the moral weight of creating life without considering what comes after.  Although it has never ranked among my favorite classics, I recognize its impact across generations. Its themes—fear of the unknown, the pain of rejection, and the search for identity—continue to resonate because they touch universal human questions. I watched this movie a long time ago, but for some reason, I didn’t do the review. I hadn’t much information at the time I decided to watch it. But what I had was enough. Stephen King’s story? Let’s go for it! When it goes wrong… The general idea of the story is about a couple trying a sexual fantasy that goes wrong. Entirely credible, a situation you would never think could happen. But it could. Worst, it would be a huge problem… A simple and common fantasy: your partner ties you to the bed. Then… he has a heart attack. You are alone, tied up, with no chance of asking for help and with a dead body in the room. Creepy enough? Our mind is full of tricks This whole vision is enough to make us cringe. A post-apocalyptic scenario without zombies. Is that possible? Yes! And with quite an interesting result, to be honest.  Bird Box , starring Sandra Bullock, offers a fresh take on the well-explored scenario of an apocalyptic event. Not Exactly Jumpy It wasn’t as scary as I read it would be; your heart will not race a lot, but it’s a pretty decent movie and a good time, definitely.  It might seem a little slow in the beginning, but as the story unfolds, it will most certainly catch and hold your attention until the very end. Curious Choices The protagonist is a very curious choice, as well as the way the story develops. Her internal growth is obvious, but also her very own individual goals.  Rather than trying to find an explanation for whatever is happening or how it might all come to be, all she wants is to reach shelter, both for herself and the children. I really enjoy watching horror movies, even when they’re not great, because you either get a good scare or a good laugh. I just like it. So, based on that facet of myself, I decided to watch this movie with my husband. I thought “Hm, this might not be great, but we’ll at least get a laugh!”. I didn’t laugh at all. Quite the opposite!  Jumpy I’m not sure what I think of It Follows , but it definitely got under my nerves. I jumped a couple of times and was pretty tense for most of it. So, it did a pretty good job for a movie in this genre. Of course, I found some flaws or weaknesses with it, some more severe than others, such as, for example, the ending to the movie. It was so abrupt, it seemed as if the tape had just run out or something…  That particular ending has a purpose, though. However, I can’t quite figure out what it might be.
