What makes it particularly frightening for me is how quickly everything changes. Nobody seems to have taken the warnings seriously, and suddenly there's no time to prepare. I stumbled upon Old Dog, New Tricks ( Animal ) completely by chance, and I ended up loving it. It’s one of those shows that quietly appears on Netflix with little promotion but absolutely deserves more attention. A Comedy With Heart This series is genuinely funny, but it also has a lot of warmth and emotional depth. The humor feels natural, driven mostly by the characters and the situations they find themselves in rather than by forced jokes. At the center of the story is Antón (Luis Zahera), an old-school vet who spent his life working with cattle and farm animals. Because of the bad economy, he’s forced to take a job at a fancy pet clinic — exactly the kind of environment he can’t stand. He’s sarcastic, moody, stubborn, and often grumpy, but underneath all of that, he has a good heart. That balance makes him incredibly likable. All Cliches in One Movie This is a movie where everything seems to be coming out of the most typical cliche. You have love between two people from very different social environments; a best friend madly in love, but definitely in the friend zone, no chance; a bad guy that is bad because no one loves or understands him; the good girl that turns him into a good guy. You name it! I’m sure that every cliche you can think of is there somewhere. And obviously, love always wins in the end. Sometimes the cliches work. After Marina’s (María Pedraza) killer returns freely to Las Encinas , the rage, revolt, and depression seem to spread amongst the students. They know that nothing will be like before. The feelings are complex and confusing, and the kids don’t know what to do with them. Social and economic status seem to be above the judicial system. Yet the transformation experienced by all the students is the season's protagonist. Many teenage shows tend to picture the characters as if they are merely underage adults. Here is where Elite went further and better. Yes, they do things that usually only adults do. Yet, the way they deal with them shows the truth: they are little more than children. The show's fans had been waiting for this season for a long time. Personally, I felt it should have ended in the second one . Maybe I was right. I know, I know! You all loved it, but I have mixed feelings about it. I didn’t find the first couple of episodes that interesting. It took longer than it should to get into the action, and the omnipresence of the professor is going a bit too far. But let’s see the ups and downs of this season. When I first started watching this show, there wasn’t as much of a buzz surrounding it yet, so I was reluctant.  It was a Spanish show, of which I knew nothing, but… I decided to give it a try. And, I can tell you: I didn’t regret my decision whatsoever. It now sits on the throne as the most-watched non-English show on Netflix , and that honestly doesn’t come as a surprise to me. Engaging  It’s a great show, with a good story and very engaging from the start. Netflix  split it into two seasons, so when I finished the first, I had to wait a while for the second to pop up… It, however, did not disappoint. The characters are deep, and they manage to involve you in such a profound way, forcing you to empathize with their situation, that at some points, you’re not sure of who the bad guys are, in all of this, anymore.
