  Episode 4 of Gen V, season 2 ,  just dropped, and honestly—it left us with so many questions that waiting another week feels cruel. What’s really happening behind the scenes?   Part 2 of Wednesday ’s second season really delivers where it matters most: the heart of the show.  Jenna Ortega continues to embody Wednesday with a sharp, dry brilliance, but what truly carries the season is the evolving friendship between Wednesday and Enid. Their bond is the emotional anchor of the story — heartfelt, funny, and at times heartbreaking. Watching the two of them grow closer while navigating Nevermore’s chaos is what kept me glued to the screen. Family Ties and Missed Opportunities The gothic aesthetic and atmosphere remain strong, and I appreciated the way the writers wove in pieces of Gomez and Morticia’s past. That integration added texture to the main plot and gave a deeper sense of the Addams family legacy.  Still, I couldn’t help but wish the rest of the family had more screen time — their presence always adds a spark, and I felt their absence. Wednesday Season 2 lands with all the gothic flair that made the original binge-worthy —this time spotlighting even richer family dynamics and chilling new mysteries at Nevermore Academy. The first four episodes dropped on Netflix August 6, 2025 , with fans grudgingly waiting until September 3 for Part 2 . Why It’s Still a Blast Jenna Ortega continues to shine as a morose sleuth grappling with her supernatural talents and unwanted hero status. Her sharp delivery and deadpan wit are as compelling as ever. Family ties get deeper attention —Pugsley’s arrival at school, Morticia’s campus involvement (with Catherine Zeta-Jones in flamboyant form), and intriguing new faces like Steve Buscemi as the oddball new principal elevate the ensemble. Atmosphere and aesthetic remain rich and inventive. Tim Burton’s return as director (including a delightfully eerie animated sequence) and the inclusion of ominous crows and haunting visuals continue to delight. Mystery hooks abound...

  This show had a very positive evolution. It grew, improved, and approached a lot of topics that many would consider taboo . Check the previous review here .   Young Royals is a Swedish show about a prince being integrated into an elite boarding school. He is sent there, after a viral video on the Internet creates a scandal. A teenager in the middle of an identity crisis, as any other teen. Yet, he has responsibilities. He is a Prince.     Good Characters One thing that I’d like to highlight about this show is the quality of the characters. There are no shallow characters. Each one of them has a personal story, their pains, and their struggles. Everyone has good and bad sides. All of them need understanding. August, the Prince’s cousin, is one of the main characters, and he is absolutely hateful. However, his complicated life story makes him more human to the viewer. I also feel the need to reinforce the fact that the teen characters in the show are really teens.   (SPOILERS) It all starts with a light, funny story on your screen—a good time.  After a while, not long, you realize that there is a lot of secrets and half-told stories. The fun, crazy mother hides a story of pain and a lawless past. The perfect little town is anything but perfect. And Ginny… well, she is indeed a hard work kid but very annoying sometimes. I’m sorry, Ginny’s fans. Gilmore Girls’ vibe It has a Gilmore Girls feeling since the beginning - with a funnier and more criminal mom. Indeed, in the first episode, Georgia's character does that exact reference.  While it seems accurate at the time, I changed my mind due to the story's development. Ginny is way more up to tantrums than Rory. She is way more problematic than you might think at first sight. Yet, the character has a good impact, but let me warn you: you may want to hug her in one second and yell at her next.   This is a very interesting, raw, and hurtful portrait of the competitive world of ballet. It all starts with a girl felling (or not) from the rooftop. This happening opens a spot for a new girl with a scholarship at Archer School of Ballet. It is a way to bring good publicity to the school and restore their name—a mere distraction. Always the family Most shows and movies tend to show that (almost) all of the teens ’problems happen due to their families' lack of understanding or respect. This one is no different. Most of these kids are suffering, physically and mentally. Their parents demand more and more, even in an irrational way. Unfortunately, some of the kids are willing to go too far to please their parents. From the very first episode, I found myself very fond of the characters in this show .  Autism is represented in a simple, general way. Nonetheless, with deep, meaningful relationships and without ignoring that, people on the spectrum have more in their lives than just a diagnosis.  [Spoilers ahead] Sam is a grown-up - what’s Elsa’s role now? Sam (Keir Gilchrist) has come of age, and it is time to go to college. A different environment, with different people and, most importantly, diverse and, perhaps, bigger challenges. Emancipation is hard, but he is ready. Elsa (Jennifer Jason Leigh), however… Sam’s mother is in a hard place about her marriage and her life. Sam doesn’t need her so much anymore, and she starts to feel lost. It’s quite common for parents, especially stay-at-home mothers, to start questioning the meaning of their lives and even the value of their efforts as soon as the kids stop being so dependent. Atypical was a great surprise for me, a quite positive one at that.  The way they show and present autism, and a person on the spectrum with their own struggles, but also with every bit of usual teenage problems, just like everyone else, was for me a big step in moving forward.  It makes its contribution toward creating a more tolerant society and more informed people when it comes to autism. Family The whole story has a good structure. The way that this family, especially the mother ( Jennifer Jason Leigh), has her life revolve around her son’s problem is quite realistic. However, this is not just a show about disabilities. It’s a show about a family that happens to have a person on the spectrum in it. And most importantly, it shows us a realistic yet optimistic point of view, full of hope for many families out there. What does it feel like? I watched this movie very recently. I hadn’t read the book, but I tend to trust Netflix ; it has some pretty good originals, plus the trailer seemed cute and the story very sweet.  Recently, most teen movies and shows have focused on their cruelty and how badly they can hurt each other. This one, however, is a beautiful, romantic movie about falling in love, and I had a good time watching it. Emotions All Over While you watch the movie, you may feel emotional. It has a good script, focused on feelings and emotions. And it leads you to empathize with the characters and feel fully absorbed in their reality. Love is probably the main word that comes to your mind after you watch it, but not only romantic love; the relationships inside Lara Jean’s (Lana Condor) family are very interesting and remarkably intense. I can actually do a quicker review on this one show: sorry, I didn’t like it. But let’s slow down and try to think about it for a moment. The show itself has a simple premise. A bullied fat teenage girl (Debby Ryan) becomes beautiful. I really enjoy watching horror movies, even when they’re not great, because you either get a good scare or a good laugh. I just like it. So, based on that facet of myself, I decided to watch this movie with my husband. I thought “Hm, this might not be great, but we’ll at least get a laugh!”. I didn’t laugh at all. Quite the opposite!  Jumpy I’m not sure what I think of It Follows , but it definitely got under my nerves. I jumped a couple of times and was pretty tense for most of it. So, it did a pretty good job for a movie in this genre. Of course, I found some flaws or weaknesses with it, some more severe than others, such as, for example, the ending to the movie. It was so abrupt, it seemed as if the tape had just run out or something…  That particular ending has a purpose, though. However, I can’t quite figure out what it might be.
