Premiering in 2006, the series arrived at a time when television was still hesitant to embrace large-scale superhero stories. It wasn't a perfect series. In fact, its quality declined considerably after its phenomenal first season. Yet, despite its flaws, Heroes remains one of the most influential superhero shows ever made. Locke and Key is a story about a murder. A grieving family, running from their memories, moves to a small town to live in an old family house. In this house, they find a group of magic keys with all sorts of powers. I had a good time watching Locke and Key . It is interesting, mysterious, and entertaining. Yet, there isn’t much more to take from the show. In many points, it is shallow. After checking some reviews, I realized there isn’t any consensus on this one at all. There are those who loved it and those who hated it. Some people think the actors were amazing; others believe they were terrible. Well, the show is fun, and the actors have an average quality. An unlikely friendship between an angel and a demon with Queen songs as background? I’m in!  The show is based on a book that I unfortunately never read - nor did I know that there was such a book (yes, shame on me).   This show was surrounded by some polemics that I never fully understood since I didn’t find any logic in what I read. Perhaps it was a matter of some British humor that doesn’t translate well to Americans, as the Queen themselves found out in the 80s?  No, it was probably more ridiculous than that. There was a petition (sent to the wrong place, by the way) asking to cancel the show because it normalizes satanism. Absurd? Now, join the fact that 20 000 people signed it! Coco was the Christmas Eve movie last year. It could be surprising. It has nothing to do with Christmas, or does it? It is a beautiful story about love, family, and… music. Miguel, the main character, wants to be a musician, but his family has banned music from their lives for a few generations now. How to live without music? Latin culture and family   Disney and Pixar focused on different cultures around the world to tell their stories. This is most probably one of the reasons their movies are so popular in so many places. In  Coco , Pixar chooses a vibrant cultural background and, in my opinion, the most unexpected of their traditions for a children’s movie: the Day of the Dead ( Día de los Muertos ).
