Sinners – A Strange Night of Music, Vampires and Freedom

  I went into Sinners knowing surprisingly little. I knew it had Michael B. Jordan, I knew people were talking about it, and that was pretty much it. So when the vampires showed up, I was genuinely surprised. Sinners doesn't begin like a vampire movie. It begins with music, family, racism, violence, and the dream of freedom. Set in Mississippi in 1932, the film gives us a very clear picture of how racial separation affected everyday life. It isn't presented as some distant historical concept. It is simply part of how the community functions. And then the vampires arrive. It sounds like a ridiculous combination when you put it that way. Somehow, it works. Bird Box - Movie Review

A post-apocalyptic scenario without zombies. Is that possible? Yes! And with quite an interesting result, to be honest.  Bird Box , starring Sandra Bullock, offers a fresh take on the well-explored scenario of an apocalyptic event. Not Exactly Jumpy It wasn’t as scary as I read it would be; your heart will not race a lot, but it’s a pretty decent movie and a good time, definitely.  It might seem a little slow in the beginning, but as the story unfolds, it will most certainly catch and hold your attention until the very end. Curious Choices The protagonist is a very curious choice, as well as the way the story develops. Her internal growth is obvious, but also her very own individual goals.  Rather than trying to find an explanation for whatever is happening or how it might all come to be, all she wants is to reach shelter, both for herself and the children.
