The Good Place is a comedy show about the afterlife. The story begins when our main character, Eleanor ( Kristen Bell ), arrives in a place designed for good people. Simple and effective, a good recipe for laughs, whatever your beliefs are. The story is full of funny metaphors, and I, particularly, had a good time watching the first season. Yet, you may feel it become a bit repetitive from the second half of the second one. However, it’s a comedy, and it will make you laugh, so you’ll probably keep watching it anyway. Stereotyped characters that work The characters are shallow and stereotyped. Yet, it seems that it was intentionally made for comedy purposes, and it works. You have the bad girl, the intelligent guy with zero social skills, the idiot, and the revolted rich girl that nobody loves. The show might send us a message, other than just make us laugh. Michael’s experiments can be seen as a warning. It shows us that most religious concepts are outdated and need to evolve. Amo
