Yesterday - Review: How would the world be without The Beatles?

After a general blackout that affected the whole world, The Beatles are gone.  No one remembers them. Except for Jack Malik, an aspirant musician struggling for success. This is Yesterday 's baseline, a lovely movie with a terrific soundtrack. It is the perfect film for chilling and having a good time. Is he a fraud? After he realizes that no one remembers the songs, Jack decides to record them as his own. Does that make him a fraud? Definitely! Yet, we can understand how tempting it was, and he has the heart in the right place. As he gets famous, his fear and guilt rise. Eventually, he discovers that two more people remember The Beatles . But they are not mad. So now, I must ask: Do you agree with the couple? A world without The Beatles wouldn't be as good? What other band, in your opinion, could not disappear? A lovely time I loved the movie. I had a good time watching it. Himesh Patel 's interpretation of the songs is very good, and Ed Sheeran's participation was

The Kominsky Method - Review

The Kominsky Method is a show about an acting teacher ( Michael Douglas ) in his 70s. Sandy is a renowned drama teacher who was never able to build a solid acting career. It is a comedy, sometimes dark, about aging, friendship, and dreams. Pain, sarcasm, and laughter Norman, Sandy's best friend, loses his wife to cancer right at the show's beginning. He is a sarcastic old man, sometimes rude, yet with a big heart, full of pain. Sandy helps him fight the pain of grieving, suffering, and loneliness. A great friendship that works as a safe haven even when all Norman needs is vent and curse the world. A good friendship survives even to the worst of us. Touching The main characters are two aging men fighting very hard to keep living, to actually feel they are living. We are not very used to this. Few shows or movies are trying to capture that, and the ones that do, more often focus on women. I liked that it is not something that you've already seen a hundred times before. Sa

Little Women - 2019: review

Little Women is a classic of literature that everyone should know, and this movie gave us a lovely version of it. Jo, the protagonist, is an aspirant writer struggling to earn her place. The story is passed in two different timelines - the present moment and Jo's memories of her sisters. Family The center of this story is the concept of family and relationship. The protagonist is, in my opinion, the strong bond these four sisters created among themselves.  We follow their domestic struggles, dreams, frustrations. And the whole connection is beautiful and truthful.  Following Jo’s perspective, we realize what changed throughout the years. How did each one of them grow up? What were their dreams? Do they still have the same dreams? Do they look at life the same way they did in those teenage years?  Feminism The movie is about family and relationships as it is about feminism. These four little women fight hard to achieve their goals in a world of men - made by men, for men.  They n

Death to 2021 - a priceless retrospective

Death to 2021 is a humorous retrospective of the last year, made in a fake documentary model that you must watch.  It is a compilation of actual footage commented by ridiculously funny characters. In fact, they are as ridiculous as they are realistic - yes, you can find specimens like these in the real world.  Dark Humor With all craziness that happened this last year, this could be no other than a dark humor movie. But hey, those are usually the best kind. I especially loved the testimonials and opinions of the Average British Citizen and the American Mom . They are perfect caricatures of some people nowadays. They are entirely ignorant, but they feel so entitled and full of opinions!  The narrator of the supposed documentary gives a special touch to it. He keeps very serious in his assumptions most of the time. But, now and then, he introduces a salty or provocative (and unexpected) comment. 2021 was a s**ty year This was a great way to show how ridiculous we all went this last

The Witcher - Season 2: the birth of a family

After a slight disappointment with season one, this new season felt refreshing. It changed my perspective about the show. The Witcher is a story of war, and this season begins with the aftermath of the battle of Sodden. But now, Geralt has an important and delicate mission: Ciri. What makes someone a monster? This season also has a lot of introspection and self-analysis. The question, "What makes someone a monster?" arises from the very beginning. It is a subtle introduction to what was to come and the critical question of this season: Who is Ciri? Or even better: What is Ciri? In this season, there is a lot of questioning about most characters. Who are they? What are they? And some of them may surprise the viewer. For example, one of the main characters, Yennefer, has changed this season. She is vulnerable now and having second thoughts about herself. After all, who is she without magic? She is on a path of transformation and rediscovery. Generally speaking, in this seaso
