Winds of Betrayal: Unraveling A Storm of Swords

One more from A Song of Ice and Fire and plenty more hours of absolute focus and heart-wrenching emotion. The story is evolving magnificently and I’m falling more and more in love with this saga.

They Become More Than Names

In the third book, more characters gain a clear voice and that, in turn, enriches the story, letting us have a notion of what they think and why they act the way they do. It makes them more human and as such, more interesting and captivating.

Of course, there is an underlying problem with this… We are talking about a book with plenty of characters, so sometimes it takes a lot of chapters to get back to the one you were wondering about, and you might get a little lost (need some help?).

Given the new characters' voices and minds, many things are enlightening. Much more of the background story is clearer now, for example. Sometimes, it might just seem like details in the whole story, but somehow, it grants it more consistency and some of its events. It gives further depth to some characters, and it all makes all the difference from the reader’s point of view, helping them get into the story.

The Lannister Siblings

My favorite characters are the Lannister siblings, all three of them, for a myriad of different reasons of course.

This book presents us with deeper analysis on their thoughts, attitudes and even their morals. It makes us understand how many of the situations came to take place, how the situation reached the point it was at when we started reading the story in A Game of Thrones.

Martin's Art

George RR Martin has a very peculiar way of showing you what he wants you to see.

His descriptions sometimes fascinate me, as well as how some dialogues and fast scenes are shouted out in a quick, clever way.

Surprises at Each Corner

I couldn’t ignore the end of this book—it honestly surprised me! So much so that it made me pick up the fourth book right away. ;) So, yeah, I definitely recommend this one for all of you to read.

Please don’t just settle for the TV show. Despite its many strengths, the books are still something special, and George R.R. Martin’s writing is a delight to appreciate!

Raising Voices - Why Alma's Mom Had the Right Reaction

In Netflix’s Raising Voices , there's a raw, emotionally charged moment when Alma confesses to her mom that something happened the night she disappeared — she was drunk, she had sex, and something didn’t feel right. It’s the kind of moment that many parents dread. But Alma’s mom handled it in a way that deserves attention. She didn’t panic. She didn’t judge. She didn’t lose control. Instead, she met her daughter halfway, which made all the difference. What Happened in the Scene? When Alma opened up to her mom, she wasn’t just confessing — she was testing the waters for safety. Could she trust her mom with the truth? Would she still be loved after saying something shameful, scary, or confusing? Her mom’s response wasn’t perfect — but it was real. She was concerned, but didn’t explode. She asked questions. She listened. She let the moment breathe. Why That Reaction Matters Technically, what Alma described can be considered sexual assault , given her level of intoxication. Bu...

Review: Billie Eilish: Unfiltered – A Shallow, Soulless Recap Pretending to Be a Documentary

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5) If you're expecting Billie Eilish: Unfiltered to offer an intimate look into the life, artistry, or creative process of one of Gen Z’s most influential pop icons, prepare to be disappointed.  This so-called documentary barely scratches the surface, delivering little more than a dry, lifeless rundown of Billie Eilish 's discography, awards, and chart performances. At best, it's a glorified Wikipedia entry with background music. At worst, it’s a wasted hour of potential. Unfiltered? The documentary lacks narrative depth, personal insight, or any meaningful exploration of who Billie Eilish is beyond her resume. Rather than providing behind-the-scenes footage, raw interviews, or critical commentary, Unfiltered relies on a monotonous narrator reeling off her achievements like items on a grocery list. There are occasional quotes from Billie herself, but they’re so brief and context-free they feel like filler material. For a documentary claiming to be “u...
