Gilmore Girls: A Year in Life - It Falls a Bit Flat

After binge-watching all seven seasons of the original show, I couldn’t resist diving into the reboot as well. I have to admit, though — it was a bit of a letdown.

Good Memories Aren’t Always Enough

For longtime fans who followed the series while it was still airing, this revival might feel like a warm, familiar trip down memory lane. But for me, watching it all at once and then moving into the reboot, it felt like something was missing — maybe depth, maybe emotional weight.

The nostalgia alone just didn’t carry it.

Inconsistencies in the Plot? Or Just Underdeveloped?

I really appreciated Rory’s dilemma — it felt genuine and timely. In fact, it raised my expectations for the rest of the story. Unfortunately, those expectations weren’t met.

Lorelai and Luke’s relationship seemed stuck, showing almost no growth after all these years, while Paris’ evolution felt rushed and a bit over-the-top.

A Bit of a Disappointment

There isn’t much more to say. I adored the original series and had high hopes for the reboot, but I was ultimately left wanting more — more development, more cohesion, more heart.
