Tomb Raider - 2018 Movie Review

Old tombs, ancient curses, or perhaps… Well, something like that, right? This is what you expect from a Tomb Raider movie. Yet, wait… who is this girl?

If you, like me, were used to Angelina Jolie, I introduce you to Alicia Vikander. A great actress and a suitable Lara Croft - you may need some time to adjust the difference, but she is good.

As a good old action/adventure movie, in Tomb Raider, you’ll find quite a few exaggerations and some incongruence. It doesn’t matter. This was what we signed up for!

When you decide to watch a movie like this, you expect to be entertained, not to discover the next masterpiece of cinema. You have many adventures, with some breathtaking moments, puzzles to solve, mysteries to look for. It is all about good entertainment, and that’s it.

I saw a lot of bad reviews, but I don’t think it is that bad. Nowadays, we tend to rationalize and intellectualize everything. Tomb Raider is entertaining. Isn’t it the point?

It is an unpretentious movie, light, and fun to watch. I recommend it.
