I just finished watching 13 Reasons Why last night, and I still feel something I’m not quite able to put into words. Suicide is a Heavy Topic I had previously read some criticism about the show regarding how negative it could be, how impactful it could be on teenagers, and how inappropriate it was to romanticize the notion of suicide in this manner. Romanticize?! Well, I had only watched one episode when I read all of this, and I was somewhat in agreement. Yes, romanticizing such a thing could never be a good thing; it would tell the victims that these actions were a suitable response to their feelings. I really enjoy watching horror movies, even when they’re not great, because you either get a good scare or a good laugh. I just like it. So, based on that facet of myself, I decided to watch this movie with my husband. I thought “Hm, this might not be great, but we’ll at least get a laugh!”. I didn’t laugh at all. Quite the opposite!  Jumpy I’m not sure what I think of It Follows , but it definitely got under my nerves. I jumped a couple of times and was pretty tense for most of it. So, it did a pretty good job for a movie in this genre. Of course, I found some flaws or weaknesses with it, some more severe than others, such as, for example, the ending to the movie. It was so abrupt, it seemed as if the tape had just run out or something…  That particular ending has a purpose, though. However, I can’t quite figure out what it might be. Disturbingly addictive is, without a doubt, the most effective way of describing this show and the effect it can have on you. Nominated for many a prize, Outlander actually won the “Most Bingeworthy Show” prize at the Critics’ Choice TV Awards, and, let’s face it, it totally deserved it. I wasn’t sure what I was really looking for, and this series stood out to me. I didn’t even read the synopsis, just liked the image and opened it.  The first scenes weren’t that catching, and I gave up in a few minutes. An animated movie usually tends to be a good time for everyone, whether it’s just to relax a little or to enjoy some quality family time. I watched Big Hero 6 last Christmas, and I must say, it was absolutely delightful. A very pleasant surprise At first, I assumed it would be another generic robotics film—something full of gadgets, unrealistic inventions, and empty spectacle meant to dazzle kids without truly connecting with them. Fortunately, I was wrong. So very wrong. Big Hero 6 turned out to be a beautiful, heartfelt story about love, friendship, and sacrifice. Real Emotion, Real Impact The film surprised me with its emotional depth. It's sweet, yes—but also sad and sobering in a good way . It doesn’t shy away from showing young audiences that life includes loss and pain, and that growth often comes from hardship. After binge-watching all seven seasons of the original show , I couldn’t resist diving into the reboot as well. I have to admit, though — it was a bit of a letdown. Good Memories Aren’t Always Enough For longtime fans who followed the series while it was still airing, this revival might feel like a warm, familiar trip down memory lane. But for me, watching it all at once and then moving into the reboot, it felt like something was missing — maybe depth, maybe emotional weight.  The nostalgia alone just didn’t carry it. Inconsistencies in the Plot? Or Just Underdeveloped? I really appreciated Rory ’s ( Alexis Bledel ) dilemma — it felt genuine and timely. In fact, it raised my expectations for the rest of the story. Unfortunately, those expectations weren’t met.  Lorelai ( Lauren Graham ) and Luke’s ( Scott Patterson ) relationship seemed stuck, showing almost no growth after all these years, while Paris’s ( Liza Weil ) evolution felt rushed and a bit over the top. ...

One more from A Song of Ice and Fire and plenty more hours of absolute focus and heart-wrenching emotion. The story is evolving magnificently and I’m falling more and more in love with this saga.  They Become More Than Names In the third book, more characters gain a clear voice and that, in turn, enriches the story, letting us have a notion of what they think and why they act the way they do. It makes them more human and as such, more interesting and captivating.  Of course, there is an underlying problem with this… We are talking about a book with plenty of characters, so sometimes it takes a lot of chapters to get back to the one you were wondering about, and you might get a little lost ( need some help? ). Given the new characters' voices and minds, many things are enlightening. Much more of the background story is clearer now, for example. Sometimes, it might just seem like details in the whole story, but somehow, it grants it more consistency and some...
