O Grotesco

Há muitas formas de encarar o Grostesco ou o Bizarro na Arte. Rosa Nussbaum tem uma perspectiva interessante, que explorarei neste post.
O Grosteco passa muitas vezes pela ideia de liquefação dos diferentes elementos da obra, uma mistura de corpos entre si ou de corpos com a natureza, são um bom exemplo deste estilo. Há uma transformação, uma metamorfose, que poderá mesmo, ser horripilante para o nosso olhar, sendo precisamente isso que a torna tão fascinante.
Os artistas que recorrem ao grotesco como forma de expressão, não pretendem deliciar o seu público com a beleza da sua obra, mas sim chocá-lo. Nussbaum vê este tipo de arte como uma forma de combate à pressão posta no ser humano para a perfeição, o último objectivo destas obras.
Muitas vezes, estes artistas inspiram-se em lendas que captam os maiores medos do ser humano, aquele lado negro que normalmente escondemos ou queremos esquercer totalmente. Brincam com os medos, os pesadelos e toda a horripilante torrente macabra que somos capazes de ir buscar ao lado mais oculto e obscuro da nossa mente.
O Grotesco explora muitas vezes a ideia do pecado original, num esforço contínuo para combater a ideia de que a mulher tem de ser pura e sem sexualidade.
As linhas gerais destas obras, principalmente a nível de escultura são horizontais e não verticais como podemos observar noutro tipo de trabalhos, muitas vezes realizados com o objectivo de transcender quem os vê para um outro plano. Aqui, o público é mantido num baixo plano, de encontro à sua mortal e falível humanidade.
Umas das mais famosas celebrações do Grostesto, ainda segundo Nussbaum, é o tão desejado Carnaval, onde este toma proporções extasiantes, conseguindo quase transportar-nos para um outro plano, uma outra realidade.
